The banquet was held in the Revolving Restaurant at the City Bayview Hotel. The city view at the revolving restaurant looks good. The tallest building in Penang, Komtar, stands out in the city skyline.
Tourism Penang has arranged for a Lion Dance to greet the participants.

The Conference Co-Chair Prof. Qing Li gave a short speech to welcome all the participants. He also acknowledged everyone who has helped out especially the local support from the USM student helpers.
The Program Chair Dr. Wenyin Liu announced the result of the Best Paper Award. It went to Dr. Philippos Pouyioutas for his paper titled "The Database Model and the System Architecture of a National Learning Objects Repository for Cyprus".
