Abstract

What will the educational experience be like in 2010? What impact will e-learning have on the student experience? Join Shaun Rein as he paints a picture of what the educational environment might be like in the future and what the role of e-learning would be. Shaun will explore challenges institutions will face and how some schools have already begun to address these challenges and pave the way for success. Shaun will also share customer success stories from institutions around the world and provide insight into WebCT's ongoing commitment to excellence in online learning.

Biography: 

Shaun Rein is the Managing Director of China for WebCT, (hyperlink: http://www.webct.com), the world's leading provider of e-learning systems for educational institutions. He also oversees WebCT's Taiwan and South Korean operations. WebCT has raised $125 mil. USD from leading venture capitalists. Over 1700 institutions use WebCT's e-learning platform and services.

Previously, Shaun Rein was the Principal and Chief of Research for Inter-Asia Venture Management, where he was responsible for education and IT investments. Before joining Inter-Asia, he was the Assistant Director of the Centre for East Asian Research at McGill University. He was also the Founder and CEO of the Little Mountain English Education Company in China and the Founder and CEO of Reino Productions in Canada. He currently serves as the Social Chairman of the Harvard Club of Shanghai and as the Secretary General of the Asia Society's Executive Board in Shanghai.

Shaun Rein is Executive Advisor to the Monacan merchant bank, CODIMA, and Senior Advisor to the VC firm China Metropolitan Ventures. He is also the author of the best-selling book Xiao Shan's Guide on How to Get Into Harvard (Zuojia Publishing House, China, 2003) and (Cheng Chung Publishing House, Taiwan and Hong Kong, 2004).
